New In Car MDT System
The Mobile Data Terminal is live. A computer in your patrol car, wired straight into KYSRP CAD. Run people and plates, file citations and arrest reports, work the dispatch board and manage patient records — without leaving the driver's seat.
Look at the console in any marked unit and a prompt appears. Press your key and a Windows-style desktop opens over half your screen — deliberately half, so a suspect who runs while you're head-down in a report is still a suspect you can see.
- It is live CAD. Not a copy, not a cache. A citation filed here lands on the record instantly, and the warrants you see are the ones that exist right now.
- It is tied to you. Your own CAD account signs your work. Every report carries your name and your callsign.
- It is on the record. Every lookup, report and status change is logged, along with the officer who made it.
Sign in once, and only once
Setup is a single paste. The terminal uses your personal CAD token so your work is attributed properly, and once it has it you are never asked again.
- Sign into cad.kysrp.com with Discord — the same Discord account you play on. The terminal checks that they match.
- Generate your personal API token: click your name, then Account Settings, then the API Token tab.
- Paste it into Settings → CAD account in the MDT. It is encrypted before it is stored and tied to your game licence.
Your token is what puts your name on a citation instead of leaving it unattributed, and what stops one officer filing under another's name. Until you do this, nothing works — no lookups, no reports, and you cannot go on duty.
Go on duty from the car
A duty control sits in the taskbar, so you can clear, go en route or come on shift without losing whatever is on screen.
- Pick your unit. Your units come from CAD, so the roster stays in one place.
- Set your status. Your department's own 10-codes, the same ones dispatch sees.
- Go off duty cleanly. One click in the same menu, so the board stays honest.
The unit you are on duty as is stamped on every report you file. Try to file while off duty and the terminal stops you, rather than filing something with no officer attached to it.
LINK — run people, plates and serials
The Law Information Network of Kentucky. Everything police need to identify who and what they are dealing with.
People
- Search by name, partial name, licence or ID number
- Active warrants flagged in the results list, before you open anything
- Full description, driver and weapon licences with their numbers
- Every prior citation, warning and arrest, with the officer who filed it
Vehicles
- Plate or VIN, whole or partial
- A partial plate returns every match, not one arbitrary guess
- Registration, insurance and registered owner
- Stolen and impounded vehicles called out in red
Weapons
- Serial number, whole or partial
- Registration status and registered owner
File a report properly
Citations, written warnings and arrest reports, built so you never have to know an ID number.
- Subject. Type a name and pick from the list. Coming from someone's record fills it in for you.
- Location. Addresses come from CAD, searchable by street, postal or county.
- Charges. Type to search your penal codes. Each charge carries a fine, community service tasks, or jail time and bail — your choice, per charge. Counts multiply, with live running totals. Written warnings carry no penalty, by design.
- Seized items. Item, quantity, and whether it was illegal.
- Vehicle. Enter a plate and press Look up — model and colour fill themselves in, and a stolen vehicle is flagged mid-report. Speed limit, recorded speed and pace type (paced, radar, laser or other).
- Connections. Attach the report to an open 911 call or an active incident, so a scene stays together when several officers file separately.
- Narrative, plus Save as draft to finish later.
Dispatch, without switching apps
Calls, BOLOs and the units board are sections in the sidebar rather than a separate program, so checking the board never costs you the lookup you were in the middle of.
- Active calls — case number, location, caller and assigned units, with unassigned calls flagged. Refreshes on its own.
- BOLOs — vehicles, people and anything else flagged by dispatch. Officers can raise one from the car.
- Units on duty — everyone signed on across all departments, with callsign and current status.
Patient Records for Fire and EMS
Medics get their own application on the same terminal, built around patients rather than suspects.
- Search a patient by name and see their medical history: conditions, blood group, notes and dates
- Add to that history from the scene
- File a full patient care report with diagnosis, medications administered, pre-existing conditions and narrative
A deliberate boundary: Fire and EMS have no access to LINK — no criminal history, no warrants, no plate or weapon lookups. Patient information and police information are kept apart on purpose, and that separation is enforced by the server rather than merely hidden from the screen. Medics still get active calls and the units board, so a scene can be worked without an officer relaying everything.
Who sees what
Your access comes from your department role. If a section is missing it is not broken — that role does not have it.
- Police — LINK, reports, warrants, notes, and full dispatch including BOLOs
- Fire and EMS — patient records, patient care reports, active calls and units
- Command — everything both roles can do
Make it yours
Saved to your account, so your setup follows you between sessions.
- Screen position — right half, left half, bottom half or full screen
- Light, dark and high contrast — dark for night shift, high contrast where nothing relies on colour alone
- Picks up where you left off — close the terminal to drive and it reopens on the app you were using
Accountability
Every search, report, warrant change, BOLO, status change and account link is logged to the department along with the officer responsible, as are blocked and unauthorised attempts. To be clear about what that is for: it is not there to catch out good officers, it is what clears you when somebody claims you ran them without cause.
Getting started
- Get in a marked unit. Police, fire and EMS vehicles are fitted; civilian cars are not.
- Look at the console and press F4. Rebind it in the pause menu under Settings → Key Bindings → FiveM, or type /mdt.
- Link your CAD account: Settings → CAD account. One paste, one time.
- Go on duty from the taskbar, then get to work.
